The Spice Girls arrived at Heathrow Airport in London this afternoon and opened the brand new Virgin Atlantic terminal. Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria were introduced to the crowd of adoring fans and waiting press by British television host Vernon Kaye.

Despite the long flight from Los Angeles, the girls looked relaxed and glamorous as they walked on in style… although Emma is still using crutches following her fall during the Mandalay Bay show on Tuesday. Emma revealed some great news though – she is receiving treatment from David Beckham’s physiotherapist and has her fingers crossed she will be okay for Saturday.

After answering questions put to them by Vernon, the girls pressed a large red button to open the terminal, which created a huge explosion of confetti that showered the stage and the crowd.

“We were overwhelmed that so many people were there to welcome us to London, we can’t wait to perform for our UK fans,” the girls told thespicegirls.com afterwards.

The Return Of The Spice Girls tour kicks off its UK leg at The O2 Arena on Saturday.
